LOCATION: Jay Creek Cemetery is located S of Little Rock and W of Hensley on Brown’s Trail. From Little Rock travel south on I530 to Exit 10. Travel on Highway 167 SW approximately 3.8 miles to the intersection of Highway 167 and Spring Lake Rd. Take Spring Lake Rd. 3.8 miles (Roads name switches from Spring Lake to McGinley to Jay Creek Rd.) When you cross over Long Road there is a gate across the road locked. Marked with a sign Timberland Investment Resources. At this time we have not been able to contact them for access to this cemetery IAW AR Revised Statues. From the gate it is just short of a mile when the road turns left onto Browns Trail. Hand made sign on left. Cemetery is about 800 feet along Brown’s trail on the right. Fenced next to the road.

LEGAL: Located in the NE ¼ of the Ne ¼ of Section 26, Township 2 South, Range 12 West.

CONDITION: This cemetery shows signs of care. Recent grave witching or ground sensor work with red (faded) flags marking all graves. Lots of field stones. Met a Mr. McGinley, adjacent land owner, who told me the Duncan family was very attentive to the cemetery up to a few years ago. Some Duncans live in the area but he wasn’t sure if they were related.

AGE: Earliest grave is 1889 and most recent 1929
