Kenneth Redding, 78, of Vilonia passed from this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015. He was born to Judson Jasper and Elma Doris Redding in Winter Park, Florida on Tuesday, April 27, 1937.

When Kenneth was four his family moved to Virginia where he attended school and graduated from Washington Lee High School in Arlington. He joined the Air Force after graduation and served three tours of duty in Vietnam before retiring in 1978. After retirement from the Air Force, Kenneth worked for Vilonia Metal Works until his second retirement. He was a member of Vilonia First United Methodist Church and an active member of the VFW, serving as Commander of Post 6685 as well as designing and overseeing the Veteran’s Memorial in Vilonia.

Kenneth was simply known as “Grandpa” by everyone. He loved to be active in social settings, was a history buff, especially the Civil War and he loved to collect Mickey Mouse memorabilia. Kenneth was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents Judson Jasper and Elma Doris Redding, three brothers, James, Carl and Charles Clyde Redding all of Orlando, Florida and son Kenneth Redding Jr. of Gibsonton, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Charlene Redding of Vilonia, Arkansas, his daughter Patricia Worden and husband William of Shirley, Arkansas, his step-son Steve and wife Renee’ of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Trinity Wood of Russellville, Arkansas, Heather McGowan and husband David of Clinton, Arkansas and Andrew and Adam Worden of Shirley, Arkansas, seven grandchildren Samantha Gonzalez, Alexandra Melchor, Caleb and Elizabeth Byrd, Emily McGowan, Audrey Wood and Alivia Chapman all of Arkansas, five great-grandchildren Lily and Christopher Gonzalez, Johanna, Julianna and Jayliana Melchor, two nieces, Jean Redding Robinson and Joyce Redding Hunter, three nephews, Carl (Butch), Charles and Dale Redding and numerous great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a multitude of dear friends and his church family.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Vilonia Cemetery.

Lee Koski, Steven Finch, Caleb Byrd, Glen Byrd, Andrew Worden and David McGowan will serve as pallbearers.
