FARMINGTON — Marguerite Reed Banks, 96, a resident of Farmington, passed away on Oct. 8, 2013, in Springdale. She was born Oct. 2, 1917, on Skylight Mountain, the daughter of George Adair and Vera Davis Reed.

Marguerite graduated from Morrow High School in 1936. She retired from Levi Strauss, having worked 35 years for Oberman's and Levis. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (ACWA) and the Farmington United Methodist Church.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Vicki Banks Shannon and husband, Jerry, of Farmington; two grandchildren, Allan Shannon of Farmington and Elizabeth Shannon (Betty) and husband, Nathan Crabtree, of Manhattan, Kan.; one great-grandson, Lucas Crabtree of Manhattan, Kan.; sister-in-law, Betty Banks of Fayetteville; two special nieces, Joann Yates of Tustin, Calif., and Patsy Cluck of Salisaw, Okla.; and one nephew, Paul Morrow of Kansas City, Mo.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Cane Hill Cemetery; there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.
