Funeral services for Ralph V. Shaw, 70, of Conway, Ark., were held Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home Chapel in Conway, Ark., with Pastor Randy Long officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Shaw died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at McClellan VA Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Gainesville, the son of Robert Ace and Alta Mearle (Farmer) Shaw.
He was of the Baptist faith and was the former owner of Southern Plastics Sign Co. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed woodworking, music, singing, traveling and his grandchildren.
Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Shaw of Conway, Ark.; four daughters, Mitzi Reynolds and her husband, David, Alicia Troutman and her husband, Gary, Rebecca Lewis and her husband, Bill, and Dedi Schall and her husband, Chris, all of Conway, Ark.; two sons, Rob Shaw and Dwaine Shaw, both of Conway, Ark.; 14 grandchildren, Heath Lewis, Brock Forness, Aaron Reynolds and his wife, Jessyca, Ericka Mauldin, Amanda Johnson, Jeremy Shaw, Alana Forness, Lauren Reynolds, Lance Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Kelsey Troutman, Wesley Schall, Cody Lewis and Alix Schall; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Reynolds; four siblings, Glen Shaw of Springfield, Robert Shaw of Nixa, Maxine Shanerman of Gainesville, and Letty Moss of LaCenter, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Shaw; and one great-grandchild, Yashua Forness.
Pallbearers were Lance Johnson, Jeremy Shaw, Aaron Reynolds, Bill Lewis, Chris Schall and Gary Troutman.
Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Sullivan, Johnnie Williams, J. Cullum, Delbert Rackley, Don Jenkins, Rex Johnson, Gene Snelson, Jessie Aycock, Bob Shaw, Glen Shaw, Larry Amyx, John Wilbanks and David L. Reynolds.
