William Henry Lane was born in Northeast Missouri Oct. 24, 1863. Departed this life May 4, 1925. At the age of 16 years he moved with his parents to Benton county, Ark. When he was 20 years old he joined the Missionary Baptist church. Was married to Charlotta Heather Dec. 20, 1884. To this union was born six children: Robert E., Mary May, Ambrose, Charley, Ray and Claude. Charley preceded him in death in 1901. He leaves to mourn his death his faithful wife, 5 children and 7 grandchildren; also one step-daughter, Mrs. Julia Trammel. He was a loving husband, a kind father and was prepared to go home and be at rest with loved ones over there. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fleer at Cross Roads and his remains laid to rest in Flint cemetery southwest of Gentry. Written by Chas. Linton.
