WALKER, Joel - {from Pleasant Grove} Joe Walker, an old resident of this community, passed away Saturday night. Funeral was held Sunday at the home and burial was had in Flint Creek cemetery. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.

Joel Walker was born Jan. 27, 1850; died Sept. 8, 1928, age 78 years, 7 mo. and 12 days. The deceased was born in Georgia but an early age moved to this community where he resided up to the time of his death. He was married to Laura Willis July 26, 1876. To this union were born eight children, five of whom, together with the companion, one brother and eighteen grandchildren, are left to mourn his departure. Those left are: Allen Walker, brother, Gentry; Wallace Walker, Cortez, Colo.; Alva Walker, Ernest Walker, Gentry; Mrs. J.C. Killingsworth, Neosho, Mo.; John Walker, home address. The deceased united with the Baptist church at an early age and has been a devoted christian worker since.
