Lovetta F. Loveless of Little Rock died on May 31, 2011.
She was born at home in Needs Creek, Arkansas, after her mother, Clara Woodruff Loveless, cooked a Sunday dinner for the entire family and guests. Her father was Zack T. Loveless.
After graduating from Greenbrier High School, she graduated from Capital City Business College in Little Rock. She then worked for Arkansas Ice and Storage Company in North Little Rock, Charles H. Earl Enterprises in Little Rock, Jacuzzi Inc., and the Arkansas State Claims Commission.
She worked with Jacuzzi for 18 years beginning in 1965 at Jacuzzi Bros. Inc. as Secretary to the President and she eventually rose to the position of Corporate Secretary of Jacuzzi Inc.
Lovetta was successful, well-known and respected in her profession. She was the first female president of the Little Rock Toastmasters Club, the first club to be chartered in Little Rock, and was a member of the National Association for Female Executives.
She was a former board member of the Arkansas Junior Miss Pageant, former vice president of the Venture Club and former secretary of the Berkshire Park Property Owners' Association. She also was a former president and board member of the Jacuzzi Federal Credit Union.
Lovetta was a world traveler who loved adventure. She rode a camel in Africa and recently took up parasailing. She was passionate about dancing and was accomplished in both ballroom and country dance.
She was an actress appearing on the stage and in film, television and commercials. When she moved to Little Rock to go to school, she became a member of The Temple Baptist Church.
Later, she joined the downtown Second Baptist Church and, after moving to West Little Rock, she became a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was an active member serving as a greeter and in other roles.
She is survived by her sisters Georgia Chargois and Shirley McElhanon Jordan (Gene), brother Gene Loveless (Jewel), sister-in-law Bonnie Loveless and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Hazel Cardin and Ozie Martinez, and brother Gus Loveless. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Roller-Chenal (501-224-8300) in Little Rock.
Services will be held Friday June 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation immediately prior to the service from noon until 2:00.
Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.
Memorials may be made in Lovetta's name to Second Presbyterian Church.
