March 11, 1898 - April 11, 1969
Jackson Benjamin McGinty, Jr., 71, Smackover died Friday in a Smackover hospital following a short illness. He was born March 20, 1898, in Bienville Parish, La., and was the son of Martha Elizabeth Watts and Jackson Benjamin McGinty. He was a retired pipefitter and was a member of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include one son, Derwood McGinty, Shreveport, La.; one sister, Mrs. Zolla Stockes of Smackover, and one brother, Guice McGinty of Sibley, La. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Young's with the Rev. E. J. Deluish officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under direction of Young's. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Saulsbury, Henry Simpson, T. P. Creswell, O. R. Murphrey, Earnest Hodges, and Wendell Holt. (El Dorado Times - April 15, 1969)
