July 6, 1887 - March 7, 1966
Rev. Edmond E. Jones died Monday at his home in Huttig. Rev. Jones was born in Downsville, La., July 6, 1887, the son of Columbus and Willie Jones. At the age of 19 he joined Macedonia Baptist Church, Laughton, Ark. He began his teaching career at the age of 20 and he entered the ministry at the age of 33 and pastored churches in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. He was educated at A. M. and N. College, Grambling, La. He was married to Miss Marilda Honeycut Jones for 33 years. To this union two sons were born, Farris and Auddie. His second marriage was to Miss Grace Armstrong. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Jones; one daughter, Miss Brenda Jones, both of Huttig; one son Auddie Jones, Detroit, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Watson, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Hattie Burris, Milwaukee, Wis. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sweet Home Baptist Church, Buena Vista, Ark. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
