Obituary:
Aliene Geneva Wood Parish, daughter of the late James N. Wood and Mary Vincent Wood, was born June 6, 1919 in Koshkonong, Missouri. She departed this life April 13, 2013 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 93 years. She was united in marriage to John Hershel Parish on February 11, 1939 in Oxford, and to this union one daughter was born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Norma and Ed Roberts of Melbourne; three grandchildren: Josh Roberts and wife Kamille; Jake Roberts and wife Mandi and Mindi Roberts all of Melbourne; six great grandchildren: Slayd Roberts, Chanler Roberts, Gavin Kimble, Addyson Kimble, Lexi Conley and Elijah Conley all of Melbourne and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years: John Hershel Parish; six brothers: Authur Wood, Homer Wood, Leo Wood, Ernest Wood, Lawrence Wood and Wayne Wood and one sister; Ruby Maxey.

Graveside funeral service was Tuesday, April 16 at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery in Union, Arkansas with Steve Stevenson officiating. Visitation was Monday, April 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers: James Wood, Bobby Cunningham, Brandon Gilbert, Cameron Gilbert, Jeremy Russell and Jody Russell.
