ROGERS — Kathy Ann Schimmel, 48, of Rogers passed away March 24, 2015, in St. Louis. She was born Feb. 4, 1967, in De Soto, Mo., the daughter of Burgess and Christine Barton.
She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville and also attended Fellowship Bible Church in Lowell where she was active in Apples to Apples and the Community Group. She also was a founding member of Boy Scout troop 525 and a strong supporter of the Scouts.
Kathy started her career in Walmart's ISD division and then moved to the Treasury department. She then joined the staff at St. Stephen Catholic Church for three years. She was the State Registrar for the Arkansas State Soccer Association.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Burgess Barton and a sister, Teena "Speedy" Hahn.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Schimmel; two daughters, Ashley Schimmel and Stacey Schimmel; her mother, Christine Barton of Old Mines, Missouri; her sister, Linda Boyer of Old Mines, Missouri and two brothers, Kenny Barton of Irondale, Missouri and Joey Barton of Old Mines, Missouri.
Visitation will be 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers. Funeral Mass will be 12 noon, Saturday; March 28, 2015 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville with Monsignor David LeSieur officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Rogers, Ark. Followed by a lunch celebration at Fellowship Bible Church. Memorial contributions to the Boy Scout Troop 525 Endowment Fund or Arkansas State Soccer Association are appreciated. Online condolences to www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
