Mrs. S.M. Dunaway, after a long and tedious affliction, passed from this life to the spirit world Oct. 15, 1912 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.G. Thompson where she had made her home during her long affliction. Mrs. Dunaway was born in Lexington, Ky. May 12, 1833 and lived to the mature age of 79 years, 5 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to John Dunaway at the age of 22 and to this union was born seven children, three of which had preceded her to the other world. Mrs. W.G. Thompson of this city and Mrs. J.L. Nichols of Purcell, Okla. are the two daughters and J.H. Dunaway of Twin Falls, Idaho and E.B. Dunaway of Olive, Okla. are her sons, and still survive her. Mrs. Dunaway made a profession of her faith in Christ in early life and maintained her confidence steadfast until released from earthly pain by death. She often during her lingering affliction expressed her desire to depart and go home. The funeral services were conducted by W.S. Peter, pastor of the Presbyterian church, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Thompson and her remains laid to rest in Bluff cemetery.
