Betty Lynn Reagan of Rogers died at St. Mary's Hospital on Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2005. She was 80 years old. Ms. Reagan was born in Rogers on Jan. 9, 1925, to Zeras Lytton Reagan and Agnes Dean Shelton Reagan.

Ms. Reagan was an active member of Christ's Church in Rogers. She was a student of the Rogers Public Schools and, after graduating high school she attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., then the University of Arkansas where she received her bachelor's degree. She then went on to finish her master's degree at Emory University in Atlanta. She was also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Paris in France in the summer of 1962.

Ms. Reagan taught school in the Rogers School District for 47 years and was a large influence on many students. In 1989, Reagan Elementary was named after her. She supported several state and national preservation organizations and was a supporter of the Pea Ridge Military Park. She received the Liberty Bell Award in 1981, the Classroom Teacher of the Year Award in 1978 and the Arkansas Support Network named the Excellence in Education award in her honor in 2005. She was named to the Education Hall of Fame in 1995 and was honored by the Rogers organization in the Main Street Program's 120th birthday of Rogers in 2001 for having a vast knowledge of the city of Rogers.

Ms. Reagan was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Kappa Iota, Rogers Panhellenic Organization, Democratic Women's Club and the Benton County Historical Association. She was a Friend of the Peel House, of the Rogers Public Library, of Hobbs State Park and the Rogers Historical Museum.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Sue Reagan and Agnes Lytton Reagan, both of Rogers.

She was preceded in death by parents and grandparents.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. James E. Whisenant and Lon Brown officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Rogers.
