SILOAM SPRINGS - James A. Pearson, 68, of Siloam Springs died April 20, 2002, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born June 19, 1933, in Nicodemus to Hubert and Estelle Barnes Pearson. He was a lifelong farmer, a Realtor for the Bob Knight Agency and was the Benton County sheriff during the '70s. He was a member of Siloam Springs Kiwanis and the Nicodemus Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Johnson Pearson, to whom he was married Nov. 7, 1952; one son, Ronnie Pearson and wife Raenelle of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Carla Nodurfth and husband Mark of Siloam Springs and Cathy McDaniel and husband Nate of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Imogene Pearson of Siloam Springs; one sister, Lorene Andrews of Siloam Springs; one brother, Keith Pearson of Siloam Springs.

Services will to at 10 a.m. today at Nicodemus Community Church with the Rev. John Croce and the Rev. Larry Starbuck officiating.

Burial will be in Weddington Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Memoriais may be made to the Siloam Springs Kiwanis Club.
