DES ARC (KATV) -- A short fight on a Des Arc driveway paved the way for a tragedy and years of grief for the family of 30-year-old Donovan Buck.

"My greatest fear all my life has been losing one of my children," said Jeff Buck. "It's always been my fear. When it happened, you can't describe it."

Jeff's son was stabbed to death in a driveway off Calhoun Street early Saturday morning, according to police. His family says the person of interest is a convicted felon and not the kind of person Buck would want to be around.

"He always had a smile on his face," said his father. "I think he smiled in his sleep."

Buck hopes to lay him to rest this week in his hometown. Meanwhile this unsolved murder is the second in 10 days for a Des Arc community still trying to make sense of it all.

On Thursday, August 23 a body was discovered belonging to 21-year-old Tevin Sugg of Batesville.

"It hurts the community, it hurts everybody," said Jeff Buck. "This community is suffering."

And they're also asking for answers in the latest case of a brief, promising life hit with a cruel ending.

"Donovan's short time here is the picture that I have in my mind," said Buck. "It's just not one thing but all things together with Donovan."

Arkansas State Police are handling the case and plan to interview the 30-year-old person of interest later in the week.
