DECATUR — Donald Etris, 62, of Decatur died May 16, 2002, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Decatur to Loy and Alice Weeks Etris. He was a lifetime resident of the Gentry and Decatur area and was a director and member of the Tired Iron of the Ozarks and president of Tri-State Singing Convention. He was a member of Falling Springs Church, the Northwest Arkansas Gospel Singers Association and was a retired volunteer fireman.

Survivors include his wife, Nelva Sue Hendren Etris of the home, to whom he was married June 19, 1959; one son, Tim Etris and wife Denise of Decatur, two daughters, Marsha Swarengin and husband Russell of Noel, Mo., and Sue Ann Chenault and husband Clay of Prairie Grove; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Etris of Van Buren and Warren "Butch" Etris of Dardanelle; one sister, Linda Shaffer of Decatur.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Decatur with Mark Rotrammel and Bill Wright officiating.

Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
