David Agustus Whiteside, 81, Siloam Springs, died June 3 in Washington Regional Medical Center. Born March 5, 1895, at Gentry, he was the son of Samuel and Mary Jessie Whiteside and a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church. He moved to Siloam Springs 14 years ago from the Falling Springs community and was a retired farmer.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Vernea V. Davis Whiteside of the home; two sons, D. Kenneth Whiteside, Sacramento, Calif., and Dr. Edward E. Whiteside, Hayward, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Burgess, Peoria, Ill.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Harvard Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. James Burlett officiating. Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
