SILOAM SPRINGS — Frankie Lee Martin Sr., 67, of Siloam Springs, Ark., passed away on Jan. 29, 2013, at his home. Mr. Martin was born May 23, 1945, in Greenville, Ky.; he was the son Charlie and Helen Martin.

Frankie married Betty Lou Gifford on Dec. 29, 1967, in Tahlequah, Okla. Mr. Martin was a Vietnam veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Tyson after 40 years as a night guard. Frankie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on lawnmowers and collecting die-cast truck models.

Survivors include wife, Betty Lou Martin of the home; two daughters, Mischael Martin of the home, Shelia DeMoss and husband, Darrell Jr., Siloam Springs, Ark.; two sons, Frankie Lee Martin Jr. and wife, Sara, Springdale, Ark., Fred Martin of the home; six grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Christina Martin, Lauren Martin, Samantha Martin, Coby DeMoss and Katie DeMoss; one brother, Tommy Martin and wife, Becky, Hiwasse, Ark.

He was preceded death by his parents; and a grandson, Cody DeMoss.

Funeral services were held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, with Pastor Mike Whorton officiating. Burial was held at the Martin Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Homes.

A memorial fund has been set up at Liberty Bank to help the family with funeral costs.
