Police ID Driver Who Died
SPRINGDALE — Police have identified the man killed Sunday in a crash on Sunset Avenue as Roberto Soto-Rivera.
Soto-Rivera, 49, of 1577 Dick Smith St. in Springdale died after his pickup hit the rear of a tractor-trailer, according to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash summary. Witnesses called 911 at 8:26 p.m. according to police records.
The Mack semitrailer, driven by Thomas Rosenwinkel, 54, of Pryor, Okla., stopped for a traffic signal at 56th Street, according to the summary. Soto-Rivera's Toyota Tundra struck the back of the trailer. Soto-Rivera, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
Rosenwinkel, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured, according to the summary.
