IRELAN, F.M. - F.M. Irelan died last Thursday afternoon at his home in the southwest part of town. Mr. Irelan had been in poor health for a number of years and a stroke of paralysis from which he suffered some time ago hastened the end. For several weeks it had been known that he could live only a little while longer and his death was not unexpected. Funeral services were held at the residence Friday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Jordan of the Baptist church, to which denomination the deceased had belonged since his young boyhood days. The interment was in the Rogers cemetery. Mr. Irelan was born November 15, 1827 at Cityville, Ohio. Much of his later life was spent at Le Sueur, Minnesota, a locality from which Rogers has received many of her best citizens. Fifteen years ago Mr. Irelan came to this city and has since made his home here. He is survived by a wife and three children, John and Arthur Irelan of Rogers and Mrs. C.G. Maffit of Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Maffit arrived Friday morning to attend the funeral services but John Irelan and wife were visiting in Minnesota and could not return in time. The deceased has always been held in highest esteem by his many friends and associates for he possessed those traits of character that makes a companionable man. He was a pleasant associate, a true friend, a faithful and devoted husband, a kind and loving father.
