BELLA VISTA-- Arthur E. Blecke, 79, of Bella Vista died May 19, 2006, at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Oak Park, Ill., to Paul Gerard Blecke and Mathilde Anna Ziebell Blecke. He was raised and educated in the Chicago area. He served in the Army. He taught at Buckley High School, Paxton High School, Luther North High School in Chicago, and Elmhurst College. He spent 25 years of a 40-year teaching career at Antioch High School where he was principal for 19 years. He coached basketball, football and baseball. He was a member of the Antioch Rotary Club, president of the Lindenhurst Sanitary District for 22 years, and the Lindenhurst Planning Commision for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June A. Eckholm, in 2004.

Survivors include his wife of Bella Vista; two sons; one daughter; five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be one hour before the services, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Lutheran Church Debt Retirement Fund, the Bella Vista Animal Shelter or a favorite charity.
