J D "Bud" Boland, 72, of Lepanto died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.

He was a product support manager for Case Corp. for 35 years. After his retirement Mr. Boland continued to work part-time for Case. He was on the board of Lepanto High School Alumni Association and in his spare time collected and restored antique toys. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Cole Boland of the home; son, Scott Boland and wife Glenda of Heafer; daughters, Debra Faulkner of Caraway and Susan Beck and husband Jim of Marked Tree; brother, Mick Boland of Jonesboro; uncle, Emery Boland of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Carrie Walling, Leigh Ann Short, Ashley Smith, Shelby Beck and Abby Beck; five great-grandchildren, Micah Smith, Aubree Smith, Scott Smith, Dalton Cole Short and Lainey Walling; and many friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Derek Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Mercer, Terry Medley, Charles Grooms, Tommy Meeks, Brad Walling and Mat Short.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McGlothlin, Malcom Patterson, Bill Hudgens, H C Bradford and Wayne Nichols.
